Valentine's Day is such a fun holiday for my kids. They love being able to give something special to everyone in their class and to literally anyone else they come in contact with in the week leading up to Valentine's Day.
However, I personally feel like kids get way too much candy these days, mostly because my kids seem to come home from school with a sucker nearly every day (Yes, it's that often). So, when holidays like Valentine's Day roll around, I try to get something that's not candy for them to give away to their friends.
And yes, I know this means spending a little more money and giving away a silly toy that parents don't want cluttering up their homes, but the way I see it, I'd rather have toys cluttering up my home (that I can sneakily throw away in a few weeks once my kids have forgotten about them) than to have candy wreaking havoc on my kids' teeth, pancreas, and entire body. And yes, I'm fine with candy on occasion, who doesn't love candy? But when the schools give it out on a regular basis, I'm no longer okay with it.
So every year I try to find non-candy Valentine's toys that would be fun for my kids to give away while still remaining reasonably priced. Check out the list below.
Non-Candy Valentine Ideas
28-Pack Mini Finger Skateboards - These are on sale right now for $9.99 and I know so many kids love these finger skateboards. I personally think these are one of the coolest Valentine's gifts your kid could give to his/her friends, particularly in Elementary school.
28-Pack Stacking Bear Colored Pencils - My kids love these stacking pencils, especially in Pre-K and Kindergarten. These would be a cute Valentine for your younger kid to give away, or if you have a kid that is particularly into art these would be an excellent way for them to share one of their hobbies/interests with friends.
30-41 Pcs Punching Balloons - These are a classic, and you can get a ton of them for pretty cheap. I don't know what kid wouldn't want to get one of these on Valentine's Day.
300 Pcs Valentine's Stickers - These stickers are great for computers, water bottles, backpacks and more, and I know my kids always love getting stickers, no matter the occasion. Plus, since they come in a pack of 300, your kid can give away several stickers to each person in their class. My kids love it when they get to give more than one thing to each of their friends, even if it's something as simple as stickers.
28-Pack Sticky Heart Toys - Another classic toy are these sticky hearts. Kids love flopping these around, sticking them to each other, windows, and their parents. Here's another option that has hands, feet, and hearts.
36 Pc Mini Popper Toy - These popper toys have blown up in the past few years and I swear I'm always throwing them away, but I also give them out on birthdays and holidays because they're fun for kids to play with and I don't feel bad about throwing them away when everyone is bored of them. It's a win-win. Plus, these ones come on a keychain so you can latch it onto your kid's backpack instead of tripping over it all the time. If you want all heart-shaped poppers, check out this 30 pcs Heart Shaped Poppers listing.
32 Sheets Make-A-Face Valentines Stickers - My kids love these make-a-face sticker sheets, and the Valentine's Day ones are particularly cute. This would be a great, inexpensive Valentine's gift for you kids to give to their friends. They can write a note on the back, or simply write their name, and they're all set. They also have these cute Valentine's Gnome sets that are simply adorable, or these cute animal sticker sheets.
32 Pcs Fidget Spinner Soccer Balls - If you've got a kid who loves soccer (or sports in general), this is the Valentine's gift they're going to want to give away. They're soccer ball fidget spinners and would be fun for any age.
24 Pcs Valentines Squishies - These heart-shaped stress ball squishies are a fun Valentine's gift to give away if your child wants to lean into the heart theme of Valentine's Day (I know one of my kids would love these because of that). They have the small gel balls inside so they're really squishy and pop out of the cracks in your hands, which my kids think is hilarious. They come with a little card and pouch for easy packaging and gifting on Valentine's Day.
24 Pcs Octopus Squishies - These Octopus squishies are so adorable, and they're more of the foam type of squishies instead of the gel balls so if your child loves these slow-squishies better, check these out. It looks like they come individually packaged which is a bonus if you'd rather just write names on each one and be done.
28-Pack Animal Slinkies - These aren't actually shaped like animals, but they come with an animal top and bottom attached to each slinky so they're ready to be given away on Valentine's Day.
28-Pack Finger Lights - These toys aren't given out that often, so when my kids get one they go crazy playing with it.
30-Pack Snake Cubes - This one is a little pricier at $12.99, but I think these snake cube toys are actually a useful toy to throw in your bag when you're headed to church, on a long road trip, or anywhere where your kids need to sit quietly for a good chunk of time. My kids love playing with these, and this is one toy I don't throw away after a few weeks.
50 Pc Light-Up Rings - A little different than the finger light, these fun rings each have a different character on the ring and they light up. It's $12.99 right now, but for a 50 pack, that's great!
50 Pc Mini Pull-Back Cars - These are another toy that I actually really like because kids love playing with these for more than just a day or two.
24-Pack Mini Basketball Finger Game - I've never seen these before, but it looks like a toy that kids would have a lot of fun playing with after school on Valentine's Day. If you've got a basketball lover, this is the Valentine's gift they'll want to give to their friends.
36 Pc Mini Fidget Spinners - These are your classic fidget spinners but they come in fun bright colors and have several different designs so your child can have fun deciding which friend will get which design.
24-Pack Building Blocks - These knock-off Legos are such a fun idea for a Valentine's Day gift. If you've got a kiddo who loves to create and build things, these would be such a fun thing for him/her to give away. They are $14.99, which is a bit more than most items on this list, but certainly they're a more lasting gift than a lot of the other options.
260 Pc Goodie Bags - This comes with pencils, stickers, stamps, and more for you and your child to assemble a goodie bag for each of their friends.
Have a happy Valentine's Day!
