Gift Ideas for Teens

This post contains affiliate links off of which I may make a small commission. Any "Sponsored" items are items offering me additional commissions right now to promote their products, however please know that I would be putting these items on here regardless and they were not selected because of the increased commissions. I only found out they were available to be "sponsored" when I was getting my affiliate links ready right before posting.

Buying gifts for teenagers can be difficult because they may not tell you what they want, they may not want anything, or they may want something that's too expensive for you to feel okay buying it.

Or maybe you haven't asked them what they want and you're trying to give them a genuine surprise on Christmas morning.

Whatever your reason for reading this article, I'm glad you're here. I've got a list of awesome gift ideas ranging from $6 to several hundred dollars and they would all make a great gift for your favorite teenager(s).

2025 Teen Gift Guide

I've broken it down my general hobby instead of gender since some of these items would be great for boys or girls depending on interests.

Arts/Crafts

How to Draw Anime/Manga for Beginners - ($16) Anima and Manga are huge among teenagers and if yours loves these kind of shows, they just might love to learn how to draw in that style too.

Cozy Spaces Coloring Books - ($10) These teen/adult coloring books are the perfect way to relax after a stressful day at school. Each book has 50 illustrations and they're single-sided so you can rip them out and frame them or hang them up afterwards.

Nail Art Pens - ($8) I went to a youth camp this year with my church and the teenager girls absolutely loved this pack of nail art pens, from the 12-year-olds to the 18-year-olds. They're pretty easy to use and the fine point tip allows you to make some pretty cool designs. The only limit is your creativity.

Sports/Outdoors

Ski Goggles - ($24, typically around $30) If you've got a skier or snowboarder in the family, you can't go wrong with getting them a nice pair of winter goggles. These are reflective and offer 100% UV protection. They can be work with a helmet and according to the product label they can also be worn with glasses. This is a great gift that's functional as well as fun.

Bluetooth Beanie Hat Headphones - ($15) This gift would be great for anyone who loves listening to music on the go, whether they're a winter sports enthusiast or simply want to keep warm while they walk to school in the morning. There are several beanie hat headphones out there, but I loved this particular one because the battery lasts a whopping 18 hours (compared to 10 hours from other brands) and the control panel over the right ear looks sturdier than other brands I've seen, but the price is still comparable to other brands.

Bluetooth Speaker - ($19) I've seen this particular speaker show up on plenty of Christmas lists this season, and there's a reason for it. It's very durable, including being drop resistant up to 3.3 ft, water resistant, and dust resistant, for listening to music on the go, wherever you go. Whether your kid just wants to listen to music while they shoots hoops, go for a run, or to relax in the backyard hammock, this speaker is ready for anything.

Spalding Smart Basketball - ($130, typically $154-$249) If you've got a teenager who wants to improve their basketball game, this is the ball for them. It comes with a 1 year app subscription so that their performance can be tracked and they can get real time feedback to improve shot accuracy and ability.

Spalding Sports Backpack - ($34) While this backpack is specifically marketed toward basketball, it looks like it would work for just about any sport. It's got a shoe pocket on the bottom with an air hole to allow ventilation, and a large main pocket on top that's big enough to fit a ball, jersey, and school supplies.

Basketball Footwork Training Mat - ($38) Another great gift that's in a budget friendly price range is this training mat. It helps with dribbling, footwork, and agility drills to improve coordination and ball control. They also have a Soccer Footwork Training Mat for $33.

Basketball Training Dice - ($14, typically $16) I'm seeing this training dice pop up all over the place. They have them for at home workouts and apparently they've got them for basketball drills. The reason people love them so much is that they take the guesswork out of workouts. You roll the dice and do whatever exercise/drill it says for however many reps the second dice specifies. It's a nice way to add some variety and fun to any workout, including basketball.

Light up Sports Balls - ($15-$35) If you've got a kid who is outside practicing until well past dark, this would be an awesome gift for them because these sports balls glow in the dark. The fun won't stop just because the sun has gone down, which is a big bonus in the winter when the sun is down almost as soon as they get home from school.

Tech/Electronics

Flashforge AD5X 3D Printer (Sponsored item) - ($339, typically $359 -$499) My 3rd grader keeps begging for a 3D printer for Christmas and I'm not gonna lie, I've toyed with the idea. There are some really great ones coming out that don't cost thousands of dollars and they're a great way to "wet your feet" in the world of 3D printing. If your teen has an affinity for this kind of thing, it might be worth it to spring for a gift like this that's a little pricier but could be a great hobby for a teen who isn't into much else. Plus, this is a hobby that very well could turn into a job one day, (printing figurines from popular TV shows and board games can be big amongst high schoolers) so if your teen truly gets into this, he or she could be making good money before they graduate high school.

Flashforge Adventurer 5M 3D Printer (Sponsored item) - ($229, typically $249-$400) If you love the idea of getting a 3D printer but $300+ is just too much, this Flashforge 3D printer is another great option. It's very similar to the AD5X, but it doesn't allow for multicolor printing. For a side-by-side comparison of these two 3D printers, visit the product description section of the Amazon webpage.

Gaming Headset with Mic - ($19) While this isn't the top of the line gaming headset (those cost hundreds of dollars), it'll work nicely for your teenage son or daughter. This headset can be used for PCs, laptops, and most consoles (check to make sure it's compatible with yours). The directional mic and use of AI noise reduction technology help filter out sounds like keyboard and mouse clicks as well as noise coming from other family members. It comes in black or white with several different accent colors.

"Keep Out" Gaming Sign - ($13) If you've got a gamer who has it all, this sign might be the perfect addition to their room. It's a fun sign they can hang on their door or wall and it's way cheaper than a new video game or gaming chair. Win. Win. Win.

Beats Studio Pro Headphones - ($169, ranges from $159-$350 throughout the year) There are few things teenagers love more than listening to music in their own little world. Headphones make that happen for them. These wireless headphones have 40 hours of battery life, active noise cancelling, and are compatible with Apple and Android.

LED Light Up Mask (Sponsored) - ($29) If you've got a prankster in the house, this would be a fun gift for them. This light up mask has 50 different faces and it's gesture sensing so it can change faces simply by waving a hand in front of it. The perfect gift for that teenager who is always trying to jump scare their friends.

Thumbs-Up Phone Stand - ($12) Do you ever find your teenager propping their phone up against the milk jug while they eat breakfast in the morning so they can be on their phones while they eat? I know I do it, and this funny little phone stand is the perfect fix. It can hold your phone vertically or horizontally and is giving your two thumbs-up the entire time just to show you how happy it is to be here. This could be a great stocking stuffer or a full-on gift for your teenager who doesn't "want" anything.

Board/Card Games (and Misc Games)

Tabletop Roll Game - ($20) If you're looking for gifts that will allow your teen and their friends to actually interact with each other, this is the perfect gift. It's a bit of a silly game, that can be played with people of all skill levels, and I can imagine it being a lot of fun with the right people.

Kanoodle - ($10) This is a fun brain teaser game for kids who love solving puzzles. The game has 101 different puzzles for you to figure out, giving your kid hours of captivating fun.

Beauty/Makeup/Hair Care/Fashion

BLISSY Silk Pillowcase (Sponsored)- ($40, typically $55) Sleeping on silk is becoming HUGE. Why? Because silk doesn't absorb your skin's natural oils so your skin won't be dried out when you wake up (and switching to a silk pillowcase can help reduce or prevent acne, a double bonus for teens). It also doesn't cause the same frizziness and breakage that cotton and synthetic pillowcases do, it doesn't get as hot as traditional sheets, and it is naturally dust resistant and hypoallergenic. I know this gift isn't gonna be for every teenager, but if yours is interested in having healthier hair and skin, this would be a great gift.

e.l.f. Skin Holy Hydration - ($21)This kit contains makeup remover, cleanser, booster, face cream and eye cream. It's a mini kit so each item is air-travel friendly.

Initial Necklace - ($6, typically $9) This elegant necklace is a nice, personalized gift to give someone this Christmas. It comes in gold or silver plating and has such a nice look to it that it can be worn for any occasion.

Light Up Makeup Mirror - ($20, typically $24) My college roommate had one of these and it was so nice. While the rest of us did our makeup standing in front of the bathroom mirror, she sat at her desk and did her makeup in great lighting with magnifying mirrors on both sides to help get her eyeliner and lipstick on exactly where she wanted it.

Crossbody Bag - ($13, typically $15) These crossbody bags are really popular right now, and they're great for teenagers to have somewhere to put their phone, keys, and credit card while they go out with friends.

Crossbody Fanny Pack - ($11, typically $14) These are a little bit larger of a crossbody bag than the previous item, and they're a bit more colorful and fun for a younger teenager or preteen. They're customizable so you can put your daughter's first name letter on the front. My daughter has been asking for one of these for a month so you know what she's getting for Christmas.

Personalized Makeup Bag - ($10) This matching 2-pack comes with a makeup bag and brush bag for your teen to keep their prized possessions organized on a daily basis. You can choose which letter to have on the front, making it an extra special gift for someone who loves all things makeup.

Room Essentials

Foldable Lazy Sofa Bed - ($380, typically $470) This thing looks like the ultimate chair for comfort, relaxation, and napping. Whether you're looking for a way to give your teenager their own space in the living room, or give them something to spruce up their bedroom, this would be a great lounge chair for them.

Northern Galaxy Light Projector - ($29, typically $36-40) This could be a fun, unique gift for a teenager who likes chilling in their room with minimal lighting. Some kids just want it dark, even when they're not sleeping, and this would be such a cool thing to have on their dresser to make their room feel like more of a haven or getaway than it already does.

Fairy Lights with Clear Clips - ($8) These fairy lights are such a fun way to dress up a space, and they come with clear clips so that your teen can hang their favorite polaroid pictures and make their room that much more special.

Inflatable Couch (Sponsored) - ($37) These blow-up couches are awesome. They're compact and lightweight so you can easily take them anywhere, and they don't need a pump to inflate so there's no need for extra equipment or batteries. They're great for camping, relaxing at the beach, hanging out in the backyard, and even for attending outdoor concerts.

I hope this guide gave you some great gift ideas, or maybe sparked a memory of something else you wanted to get your teenager. Good luck shopping and Merry Christmas!
